One of the projects that Islamic Information & Services Foundation is managing is the Hotel Qur’an Project – the printing and distribution of complimentary copies of the Holy Qur’an (with English translation) to selected hotels throughout Malaysia to be put in every room. The whole idea of this project is to promote an accurate understanding of the official religion of the country and inter-faith harmony among foreigners and locals alike.

Currently we have distributed more than 40,000 over copies to more than 100 hotels in Malaysia since 1998. This project has the endorsement of the Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan (Resolution No. JKF bil 6/42/97, dated 30 th May 1997), and is in collaboration with JAKIM, YADIM and many Islamic NGOs in Malaysia . Currently we have more and more hotels requesting for the Quran, both new hotels and hotels that need replenishments; such is the popular appeal of the Holy Qur’an among hotel guests.
